The 10th Annual Diversity Conference and Career Fair hosted by The One Club

Amazon Design is a Champion Sponsor for Where Are All The Black People 2020, the 10th Annual Diversity Conference and Career Fair hosted by The One Club from September 22-24.

More than two decades ago, the question “Where Are All the Black People?” was posed to Jeff Goodby, Co-Chairman and partner of GS&P, which sparked ongoing conversation with Jimmy Smith, chairman, CEO, and CCO of Amusement Park Entertainment and The One Club Board Member. In turn, the lasting notion led the advertising veterans to spearhead a panel during The One Club’s Creative Week with that very striking question as its title: “Where Are All the Black People?” With an overwhelming response to the panel, The One Club expanded the it to a daylong career fair focused on Diversity and Inclusion by the same namesake.

Where Are All the Black People quickly became an industry staple attracting people from all over the country for one purpose––to make creative industries, such as design, advertising, and marketing more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. This year is no different in the conference’s purpose, however, its emphasis is that it’s “more than a job fair. It’s a forum for the creative industry to have transparent discussions on racial inequity and professional development. In today’s social and political climate, it’s vital that everyone take part in these conversations, from entry-level to C-suite.

Amazon designers from a cross-section of disciplines will be taking part in these conversations by participating in portfolio reviews with attendees and engaging in professional development conversations in the Amazon Design space.

The roster of speakers includes a keynote from CNN Host and political commentator Van Jones, as well as a talk from visual design pioneer Cheryl D. Holmes Miller, and many other industry thought leaders. A first for this year––the conference is virtual, global, and free for all ticket holders.

Special thanks to our Amazon Design partners, AWS UX, for making this sponsorship possible.
