Investing in the Creative Power of Young People

Amazon Design Education + Diversity partners with Arts Corps

Arts Corps revolutionizes arts education by igniting the creative power of young people through culturally engaging learning experiences. Amazon Design sponsored Festa 20/20, Arts Corps’ annual fundraiser and 20th year anniversary celebration. While in the midst of this COVID-19 crisis the event had to quickly be reimagined, so Arts Corps went live and unplugged via livestream.

Live performances by members of the Arts Corps community, including a house band, teaching artists, staff, and youth alumni, have received over 1,300 views to date on YouTube and per Arts Corps Development Manager Christa Mazzone Palmberg, helped raise over $150,000 for the organization.

Amazon Design is proud to support Arts Corps as they work toward a world where barriers to arts education no longer exist and all young people can creatively lead the transformation of schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.

The world is uncharted territory and we are adapting to a changing social, political, health, and educational environment. Our job is to respond to the needs of young people. We all, as parents, educators, neighbors, and friends have a role to play. All is not lost. But we can not do it alone. We must work together. We must use the materials we have at home to create a more engaging educational environment that can involves input and perspective from youth.

During this time Arts Corps is continuing to deliver arts education to young people everywhere by offering online programming for students to continue making art remotely. Check out the great work they are leading!
