Amazon Design Supports Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Month

Amazon Design partners with Cooper Hewitt to prepare the next generation of designers in tech.

Cooper Hewitt expanded its National Design Week to a month-long virtual celebration for October 2020, gathering the country’s leading designers and communities around the country to celebrate the power of design in our everyday world. Amazon Design is this year’s lead sponsor of the Design Fairs, a marquee event of National Design Month.

Throughout the month of October, more than 300 high school students, college students, and recent graduates from 19 countries had the opportunity to explore different career and educational paths to design. Emerging designers also met with colleges, National Design Award winners, and professional designers.

During the Meet the Designers event on October 13, students met with designers from across Amazon. Students heard stories about designers’ and researchers’ paths to Amazon and got realtime advice as they pursue their futures in design. One student shared their experience meeting with designers during the Design Fairs, "All the people were from every corner of the design profession and it was amazing to hear all the information we got from them".
